Category:Industry News Time:2024-11-20

On November 20, the Hanchuan City Consumer Council organized representatives from the People’s Congress, members of the CPPCC, and consumer rights volunteers to conduct “targeted” inspections of certain dental and medical aesthetics institutions in the urban area, in collaboration with market regulation and health departments.

It is reported that in recent years, as public awareness of oral health has grown and the medical aesthetics industry has rapidly developed, various irregularities have frequently occurred. These include illegal medical practices, the use of substandard drugs and equipment, hidden charges, deceptive practices, exaggerated advertising, illegal promotions, and excessive medical treatments. Many consumers have voiced strong concerns after facing difficulties in protecting their rights.

During the supervision and inspection, the inspectors conducted on-site account books, carefully examining medical practice qualifications, records of instrument sterilization, environmental hygiene, price disclosures and other relevant aspects. After that, they held discussions and exchanges with the owners of oral diagnosis and treatment and medical cosmetology institutions, urging and guiding the business entities to strictly abide by relevant laws, regulations and medical industry norms to ensure hygienic safety, reasonable charges and high-quality services, thus safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of patients and the reputation of clinics. On the day of the activity, six non-compliant institutions were ordered to rectify their practices, and over 120 sets of promotional materials on safe medication and equipment use were distributed.

The relevant responsible persons from the market supervision department and the health commission department stated that they solemnly reminded all oral and medical cosmetology institutions to strictly fulfil their responsibilities as business entities, promptly identify and rectify their own illegal and irregular behaviours, and effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the vast number of consumers.Meanwhile, they will continue to strengthen law enforcement efforts against illegal medical practices, false advertising, price violations and irregularities, and unfair competition behaviours in the oral and medical cosmetology industries. They will severely investigate and punish all kinds of illegal acts by the law and publicly expose them. Also, they will organize price reminder interviews and competition compliance guidance meetings promptly.
